Having experimented with many methods for producing branched structures in a variety of materials and come up with applications of value, I decided to patent my invention. I completed the prior art search, the illustrations, and the writing (excluding the claims) independently, using a NOLO publication as reference. My patent application has been filed in the United States and Canada, and I won't know the outcome of the application for another two years.
The concrete tiles shown above were a first attempt to utilize the process. The aim was to inject air into the concrete to create pathways for water to flow. This would allow tiles to be made with internal networks for radiative heating and cooling. See Energy.
